Royal Jelly is a thick, extremely nutritious, milky-white, creamy liquid secreted by the hypopharyngeal glands of the nurse bees. Queen bees live exclusively on Royal Jelly and it accounts for their incredible size and longevity. Amazingly, they live 40 times longer than worker bees, seven years as compared to seven weeks. Biochemically speaking, Royal Jelly is very complex. It is a very rich source of proteins and contains eight essential amino acids, important fatty acids, sugars, sterols and phosphorous compounds as well as acetylcholine. Acetylcholine is needed to transmit nerve messages from cell to cell. It contains gamma globulin, known to stimulate the immune system and fight off infections. Royal Jelly contains vitamins A, B-complex, C, D and E. It is particularly useful for its B-complex contents, including B1, B2, B6, B12, biotin, folic acid, and inositol. Royal Jelly is high in the B vitamin pantothenic acid, recognized for its ability to reduce stress levels. It also supplies the minerals, calcium, copper, iron, phosphorous, potassium, silicon and sulphur.

Besides, Royal Jelly is rich in nucleic acids, RNA and DNA. Gelatin, another significant component, is one of the precursors of collagen, which is another component of Royal jelly. Collagen is an anti-aging element that keeps the skin looking smooth and youthful.

Royal Jelly stimulates the immune system and it is used for:

  • Retarded growth;
  • Menopause related symptoms;
  • Recovery after illness (esp. for cancer patients);
  • Strengthening elderly people;
  • Stimulating hair growth.

Propolis or Resin. Honeybees gather Propolis ‒ a resin, from tree bark and leaves. They combine this resin with nectar, creating a mix of wax, pollen and bee bread. Then they use this substance to seal their hives, protecting them from outside contaminants. They also use Propolis at the entrance to the hive to sterilize themselves as they come and go.

Propolis is comprised of 50 % to 70 % resins and balsams, 30 % to 50 % wax, 5 % to 10 % bee pollen and 10 % essential oils. Except for vitamin K, Propolis has all the known vitamins. Of the fourteen minerals required by the body, except of sulphur Propolis contains them all.

Among other therapeutic effects, Propolis relieves pain, it has antibacterial, antiviral and anticancerogenic effects, it helps bone and cartilage healing, prevents from blood clots and decreases level of cholesterol. Propolis is an excellent natural antibiotic and an immune system booster. It is antifungal, anti-inflammatory and antioxidant. As (an alcohol- or water) solution, a salve, an infusion or as an injection, Propolis can be used individually or in mixes with other bee products or food. It tastes bitter and it has a strong aroma.

It can be used also for:

  • Sore throats, nasal congestion and respiratory ailments;
  • Inflammation of the joints;
  • Wounds and abrasions;
  • Herpes zosters, skin disorders, acne;
  • Detoxification of the body;
  • For general oral hygiene;
  • Stimulation of the immune system.

Bee Pollen. As the bees collect nectar from the flowers, they also gather Pollen by rubbing inside the bloom. Pollen comes from every type of flower on earth and it is regarded to be very beneficial to health. It is considered to contain every chemical substance (essential amino acids ‒ arginine, isoleucine, leucine, methionine…; different fatty acid that cannot be synthesized by the human organism, and vitamins ‒ B, C, D, E, K and vitamin A ‒ carotenoids) needed to maintain life, nourish, rejuvenate and heal. Other important substances of Bee Pollen are inhibines that have an antibacterial effect.

Bee Pollen is known to be an accelerator of human growth, it also regulates the intestinal functions. A natural occurrence with Bee Pollen is weight control. Taken into your digestive system, there is a speedy combustion, which makes fats burn faster and increases the rate of burned calories. Bee Pollen bursts with easily-assimilated protein and lecithin, which nourish the brain and the nervous system.

Protein content of 100 g Bee Pollen equals that of 7 eggs, meaning that an adult person can consume up to 20 g Bee Pollen by which the day need of amino acids is completely covered.

If you've never taken Bee Pollen before, it is important to start out with a small, conservative amount regardless of the form you're taking, and work up to your daily dose, whatever that amount may be. The best is to consume it the first thing in the morning in tea or some other beverage. As prevention it should be taken 2 times a day for three months in one year ‒ it is recommended to take it at the beginning of autumn and at the end of winter. During treatment it should be taken 3 times a day (10 g ‒ 13 g) before eating. You can mix it in juice, a smoothie, yogurt, fruit sauce, cereal, honey beverages, milk and warm or cold tea. Due to its beneficial effects on health and overall well-being Bee Pollen is highly recommended for the elderly and people recovering after illness.

ATTENTION! Bee Pollen can cause allergy. It is not recommended for people allergic to pollen or for people who are hypersensitive to bee stings, as they could also be sensitive to Bee Pollen.

Beeswaxcontains natural moisturizers that make it useful as a skin and lip balm ‒ the substance locks in moisture and helps to the firm and plump skin. In some cases, Beeswax may be applied to minor burns or other skin damages in order to stimulate the healing of the skin. Depending on the nature of the disease, the standardized venom can be used in a cream, liniment, ointment or injection form. Next to the effect of a live bee, injectable venom solution is considered to be a standard method to administer Bee Venom. Venom solution is prepared from pure Bee Venom (Apis Venenum Purum) and is a homeopathic preparation. The application of venom solution with electrophoresis or ultrasonophoresis is practiced in Europe and China. Because of anaphylactic reactions which can be life threatening Bee Venom therapy can only be used under strict medical supervision.
